Who Are We:
The Centre for Homeownership & Economic Development Corporation, Inc. (CHOEDC) was created in 2004 to assist individuals with homebuyer education and financial literacy. Initially, our purpose was to educate consumers about homeownership programs and how to find available financial capital and affordable housing opportunities.
As a result, we have served more than 31,300 individuals and families throughout North Carolina’s rural communities. In addition, we have expanded our programs to address gaps in workforce preparedness and job placement. Currently, we have office locations in Hillsborough, Raleigh, Creedmoor, Charlotte and Wilmington. In the Wilmington location, our Disaster Recovery Center serves Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Jones, New Hanover, Pender and Roberson County due to the damages from Hurricane Florence.
