The Business and Labor Skills Training Center
The Business and Labor Skills Training Center is a state of the art training center outfitted with twenty dual workstations (desktop computers/printers), high-speed internet service, high definition screens, and interactive training software. The BLSTC will provide three certified training programs in construction, plumbing, and HVAC services, as well as a micro-enterprise training program. Certified instructors will facilitate each training program.Our micro-enterprise training program will include coursework in business plan writing, marketing, financial management, business law, business lending, and business management.
Our program goal is to reduce the number of unemployed community members living in distressed rural areas participating in our BLSTC pilot project 4% by the second full year. Upon successful completion of required coursework, participants will go through up to 2000 hours of paid apprenticeship training with our corporate business partnerships in commercial and residential construction, transportation services, and information technology firms.
Our Job Skill Apprenticeship Program will offer certified skill training to those who are unemployed, underemployed, school graduates, reformed felons, all veterans and others looking to advance or transition into new careers. Our training programs will position you for success in the labor, technology and healthcare industry.
