Who Are We:
The Centre for Homeownership & Economic Development Corporation, Inc. (CHOEDC) was created in 2004 to provide community and economic development in urban and rural counties throughout North Carolina.
As a result, we have served more than 31,300 individuals and families throughout North Carolina’s rural communities within the last 5 years. We provide Health Care Wrap Around Services and Housing Opportunities to Medicaid beneficiaries. Additionally, we provide Workforce Preparedness Training, Down Payment Assistance for First Time Homebuyers, Rental Assistance and Small Business Technical Training. Currently, we serve Halifax, Edgecombe, Bertie, Northampton and Pitt Counties. In our Wilmington location, our Disaster Recovery Center serves Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland, Duplin, Jones, New Hanover, Pender and Roberson County due to the damages from Hurricane Florence.
